Flagging off of Kanpur Zoo Train and closing Ceremony of wildlife week celebrations 2014 by Hon'ble Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh,

The programme started with flag off of Kanpur Zoo train (Bal Rail) by Hon'ble Chief Minister at Kalidas Marg. The video link made it possible to see the train move off at real time. It was a historical moment when advanced technology was used to flag off the train at location about 90 km apart. It is a fabulous gift to the citizens of Kanpur and great value addition to the Zoo.

The welcome address was given by Mr. V.N. Garg, Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary Forests and Environment, Uttar Pradesh. The Hon'ble Minister of State for Forests, Sports and Youth Welfare Mr. F.M. Kidwai, Hon'ble Minister of State for Zoological Gardens Mr. S.P. Yadav also expressed their views.

The Hon'ble Chief Minister gave the presidential speech in which he dedicated the train to the citizens of the state. He brought on record the good performance of the department in timely running of the trains in both Lucknow and Kanpur Zoo's and efforts made by the department in improving the condition of the Zoo wildlife areas including Dudhwa. He also appreciated the efforts of the Forest Department in raising quality, seedling in nurseries, plantations as green belts.
